Adobe Premiere launches on Android with 4K editing and AI tools

Adobe has officially launched its Premiere mobile video editing application for Android devices via the Google Play Store. Following its release on iOS last year, the Android version aims to capture the growing market of mobile-first creators, particularly in regions like India and Brazil where smartphone-based production is dominant.

The application is available for free and does not require an Adobe account for basic editing. Key features include multi-track timelines, frame-accurate editing, and 4K video export without watermarks or advertisements. To enhance production quality, the app includes ‘Enhance Audio’ for noise reduction and integrates Adobe Firefly generative AI tools, such as Generative Fill, Image-to-Video, and generative sound effects.

While core editing tools are free, Adobe offers paid options for additional generative AI credits and cloud storage. The app is optimized for various devices, including foldable smartphones, and requires a minimum of Android 13 and 5GB of RAM for optimal performance. Future updates are expected to include advanced features like Adobe Fonts, enhanced captions, and the ability to continue mobile projects on desktop computers.
