Adobe updates Photoshop with Light layer and Camera Raw Glow effect

Adobe has introduced significant updates to its photo editing suite, specifically within Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw (ACR).

In Photoshop, the traditional Brightness/Contrast slider has been replaced by a new Light adjustment layer. This layer integrates Camera Raw controls—including exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, and blacks—directly into the main editor as a nondestructive tool. Users who prefer the original algorithm can access a “Legacy” version via the Properties panel settings.

Additionally, Adobe Camera Raw 18.6 features a new Glow tool within its Effects panel. This tool allows photographers to simulate effects such as Orton diffusion, Bloom, or film-style halation. The Glow feature includes adjustable sliders for Range, Spread, and Warmth, providing granular control over how light interacts with the image tones.
