Adobe unveils generative AI tools for Premiere Pro and After Effects
Adobe has announced significant AI-driven updates for its professional video editing software, Premiere Pro and After Effects, showcased at IBC 2026. A central feature is the new Generative Media Tool in Premiere Pro, which allows editors to generate video, audio, and sound effects directly within the project timeline.
Users can select a range on a track, provide a text prompt, and generate context-aware, editable clips without leaving the application. The tool supports multiple underlying models, including Adobe Firefly and partner models such as Google Veo, Kling, Runway, and Luma. For audio, the update includes tools to generate music via Adobe Firefly Music and features to separate different voices or automatically duck music when dialogue is present.
Additionally, Adobe is introducing an AI assistant for After Effects, currently in testing. This assistant is designed to help editors manage projects, solve technical issues, or create effects using natural language instructions instead of manual expression writing.
