Adolfo Cambiaso signals end of polo career as son Poroto rises
Polo legend Adolfo Cambiaso has indicated he is approaching the final stage of his professional career. In a recent interview with Mario Pergolini, the 51-year-old athlete discussed the physical toll of decades of high-level competition, stating that his body carries multiple injuries and that he is currently the only player of his age still active in the sport.
Cambiaso noted that he now competes alongside his son and nephew, describing himself as the “grandfather” of the team. While he maintains a desire to continue winning, he acknowledged that his body is sending clear signals regarding his physical limits.
His son, Poroto Cambiaso, is simultaneously establishing his own significant presence in the sport. Having reached a 10-goal handicap, Poroto recently completed an undefeated season in the three major tournaments of the Argentine Triple Crown while playing with La Natividad La Dolfina.
