Adolfo Daniel Vallejo advances in Hangzhou Open

Paraguayan tennis player Adolfo Daniel Vallejo, the No. 5 seed, secured a first-round victory at the Hangzhou Open in China. Vallejo defeated local player Jie Cui with a score of 6-1, 6-7 (2), 6-4 in a match lasting nearly three hours.

Vallejo is scheduled to face Coleman Wong of Hong Kong in the round of 16. If he advances, he could potentially meet the tournament's top seed, Daniil Medvedev, in the quarterfinals. The Hangzhou Open is a hard-court tournament with a total prize pool exceeding one million dollars.

Other notable advancements in the tournament include No. 8 seed Kamil Majchrzak, No. 6 seed Fabian Marozsan, and No. 7 seed Jaime Faria. In the Chengdu Open, No. 5 seed Hubert Hurkacz and No. 7 seed Denis Shapovalov also moved past the first round after winning tiebreakers.
