Adolfo Urso outlines Italian government priorities for energy and industry
Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, has outlined several key government priorities during a parliamentary question time session. To address rising costs and protect purchasing power, the government is working to extend fuel discounts currently offered by oil companies at approximately 10,000 distribution points across the country.
Regarding the automotive sector, Urso reported multiple meetings with Alfredo Altavilla, special advisor for BYD in Europe, as the Chinese manufacturer explores potential investment sites in Italy. While Chinese automakers have visited Italian facilities, such as the Flumeri plant in Avellino, no turnkey plants have been established yet. Urso noted that new European regulations, including potential increases in the required quota of European components to 80%, are designed to make local production more attractive than exporting from China.
Additionally, the Minister addressed industrial stability, mentioning a national telecommunications table scheduled for November 12 to manage sector transformations and employment protection.
