Adonis Georgiadis calls for unified EU pharmaceutical policy

Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis has called for a unified European pharmaceutical policy to ensure the European Union remains competitive against global powers such as the United States, China, and India.

Following a meeting with members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Public Health (SANT), Georgiadis emphasized that individual member states may find themselves at a disadvantage if they pursue pharmaceutical policies in isolation. He argued that the EU must negotiate as a single entity to navigate the rapidly changing international pharmaceutical landscape.

During the briefing, the Minister also updated MEPs on recent Greek healthcare initiatives, including measures to monitor medical practices in clinics and combat misleading advertising.
