Adonis Georgiadis comments on Greek opposition and Gaza conflict
Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis addressed several political and international issues during a recent appearance on Action24. Regarding domestic politics, Georgiadis commented on the ongoing discussions about former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras potentially forming a new political party, stating that the prospect will eventually “become a joke” because it refers to a party that does not yet exist.
Georgiadis also analyzed the dynamics of the opposition, suggesting that the political activity of Alexis Tsipras is linked to the performance of PASOK and Nikos Androulakis. He noted that if Androulakis had surpassed 20% in polls, Tsipras likely would not be attempting to run in elections again. He characterized PASOK as showing signs of recovery while suggesting Tsipras has lost momentum.
On international matters, the Minister addressed the conflict in Gaza, stating his view that “there is no genocide in Palestine,” while acknowledging the high number of civilian casualties and attributing the situation to Hamas's tactics.
