Adonis Georgiadis criticizes Alexis Tsipras over TIF protocol

Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis launched a sharp verbal attack against former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras following the decision for Tsipras to speak at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) before Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Georgiadis criticized the move as a violation of the long-standing protocol and choreography of the event, which has been observed for 70 years. He stated that Tsipras’s actions show that efforts to rebrand the former leader are futile, remarking, “He was always a child, and he remains a child.”

The Minister also dismissed recent polling data suggesting a political comeback for Tsipras, arguing that surpassing PASOK's Nikos Androulakis is not a significant achievement. Georgiadis noted that Tsipras left leadership of SYRIZA with 17.7% in 2023, and achieving 16% now does not constitute a successful return to the political stage.
