Adonis Georgiadis defends myHealth digital health updates

Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis has responded to criticism regarding upcoming changes to the myHealth digital platform. Starting September 1, 2026, the electronic entry of diagnostic test results will become mandatory. This measure aims to ensure that results are automatically available in the National Electronic Health Record (EHR) and through the myHealth application, facilitating a centralized digital medical history for citizens.

Georgiadis addressed the backlash following his announcement, describing the negative reactions as characterized by “hatred, bile, toxicity, and ignorance.” He defended the digitalization process as a necessary step to improve citizen access to personal health data and streamline medical services.
