Adonis Georgiadis faces contradiction after using ChatGPT on live TV
During a live morning broadcast on Action24, Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis experienced an awkward moment when his attempt to use ChatGPT to support his economic arguments resulted in a contradiction.
While discussing the purchasing power of citizens and consumer trends, Georgiadis cited Bank of Greece data regarding supermarket activity to suggest that consumers are meeting their basic needs. However, the discussion shifted when the topic of declining turnover in the hospitality sector arose. To support his position, Georgiadis used his mobile phone to query ChatGPT (noting he uses the Plus version) regarding the trend of restaurant revenues in 2025.
The AI response contradicted the Minister's stance, stating there was a marginal decline of -1.9% in restaurant turnover. Following reactions from the studio hosts, Georgiadis clarified that the figure provided by the AI referred to nominal turnover and did not account for the impact of inflation, attempting to reconcile the AI's data with his original argument.
