ADOTIC hosts DNS and network interconnection workshop in Dominican Republic
The Dominican Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (ADOTIC) and the Santiago Internet Exchange (STIX) held a specialized workshop on DNS, interconnection, and network operations in Santiago. The event brought together professionals from internet service providers, telecommunications, and network engineering.
The workshop provided theoretical and practical training on DNS, DNSSEC, recursive DNS servers, peering, BGP, and RPKI. These sessions aimed to enhance the security, efficiency, and resilience of the Dominican Republic’s internet infrastructure. The initiative seeks to optimize routing, reduce latency, and ensure more local traffic is exchanged directly within the country.
The program received support from international organizations including ICANN, Lacnic, Lacnog, and the Internet Society (ISOC). Additionally, the event promoted the consolidation of a Network Operators Group (NOG) to foster collaboration among technical professionals.
