Adou Minh officially receives Vietnamese citizenship

Football defender Adou Minh has officially been granted Vietnamese citizenship. Born in France to a French father and a Vietnamese mother, the 1997-born player received his citizenship decision at the Hanoi Department of Justice on August 21. He will now compete under the name Nguyễn Adou Leygley Minh.

Minh currently plays for Công an Hà Nội FC, having previously played for clubs in France such as Grenoble, Annecy, and Besançon. Since arriving in Vietnam in 2024 to play for Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh, he has become a key figure in the league. During the 2025-2026 season, he played 29 matches and helped Công an Hà Nội FC secure the V-League championship.

Following his naturalization, Minh expressed his pride and desire to contribute to Vietnamese football. He recently played a full 90-minute match in an AFC Champions League Elite play-off against Australia's Adelaide United, helping his club advance in the competition.
