ADR awards twelve rose varieties for resilience and beauty
Twelve rose varieties have been awarded the ADR seal of quality for the next 15 years following rigorous testing for health and garden value. The selection process, conducted by the Allgemeine Deutsche Rosenneuheitenprüfung (ADR), involved evaluating 30 new varieties from various breeders over a three-year period.
Kordes Rosen received five awards, including the bed roses ‘For the Love of Roses’, ‘Zauberhaft’, and ‘SEE YOU in apricot’, the climbing rose ‘Pastel Siluetta’, and the miniature shrub rose ‘Red Eagle’. Rosen Tantau was recognized for the miniature shrub roses ‘Eye Candy’ and ‘Wüstensonne’.
Other notable recipients include ‘CHINOOK SUNRISE’ from the Canadian Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, and two varieties from French breeder André Eve: ‘Blütenballett’ and ‘Schlosspoesie’. Meilland also received awards for ‘Bianca KNOCK OUT’ and an unnamed dwarf rose. Additionally, ‘CANDIA MEIDILAND’ and ‘Blühwunder 08’ successfully passed voluntary re-testing to retain their ADR status.
