ADR former director alleges suspension of food aid and irrigation contracts

Former Director of the Rural Development Agency (ADR), César Pachón, has accused the current administration, led by President Orlando José Dangond, of halting essential services and contracts.

Pachón claims the new administration has suspended the delivery of food supplies within hunger-fighting programs, specifically affecting regions such as Chocó, Valle del Cauca, and the Coffee Axis. He noted that these suspensions are occurring while several areas face emergencies, including regions impacted by recent earthquakes.

Additionally, Pachón reported that the administration is blocking the execution of signed contracts for the operation and maintenance of irrigation districts, including the Triángulo del Tolima and Ranchería. He emphasized that these districts require continuous, year-round monitoring of ground movements to prevent potential tragedies during seismic activity.
