Adrano police arrest man for attempted murder

State Police in Adrano, Italy, have arrested a 27-year-old Tunisian national in connection with an attempted murder. The incident occurred during a dispute between foreign nationals that reportedly arose from trivial motives.

Officers discovered a Tunisian man collapsed on the ground with deep knife wounds to his chest. After being stabilized at a hospital in Biancavilla, the victim was transferred to a polyclinic in Catania for emergency surgery on a deep lesion to his ascending aorta. Before his transfer, the victim was able to identify his attacker to authorities.

Investigators used surveillance footage to track the suspect, who was located two days later near a municipal villa. Police noted the man was wearing the same clothing as the night of the attack, which was visibly stained with blood. The suspect, who was already subject to an expulsion decree and lacked legal residency, was taken into custody.
