Adria InterCity service extended as Slovakia marks helicopter crash anniversary
The Adria InterCity service between Budapest and Split has been extended until early October this year. According to the CEO of MÁV-csoport, the route has seen high demand with over 8,400 bookings to date, maintaining interest even into the late season.
In Slovakia, a decade has passed since the tragic Air-Transport Europe (ATE) helicopter crash in the Bukovina region near Strelníky. On September 7, 2016, a Bell 429 helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff while transporting a 38-year-old patient with a leg injury. The accident claimed the lives of the pilot, a doctor, a paramedic, and the patient. Investigations concluded the crash was not due to technical failure, but rather the pilot failing to reach a safe altitude during a low-altitude turn, causing the aircraft to strike trees.
