Adrian Dulcea named CSM Slatina head coach as CFR Cluj eyes new manager

CSM Slatina announced on 2 June 2026 that Adrian Dulcea, 47, will take over as head coach of the Liga II side. Dulcea, a former national U18 and U19 selector, replaces Viorel Ferfelea, who moves to the assistant role. The club highlighted Dulcea’s previous experience with Romanian junior national teams and his prior spell with Slatina in the 2011‑12 season.

Meanwhile, CFR Cluj remains without a permanent manager after Daniel Pancu departed for Rapid. Club president Iuliu Mureșan said a decision on the new head coach is expected by mid‑week, with several candidates under consideration, including Dan Petrescu, Edi Iordănescu, Toni Conceição and former player Adrian Mutu. The club’s patron, Neluțu Varga, indicated a preference for Petrescu if he is deemed fit, while Iordănescu remains a standby option.
