Adrian Gheorghe wins Individual Romanian Speedway Championship

Adrian Gheorghe has secured the Individual Romanian Speedway Championship title following a three-day competition held from August 21 to 23 at the Stadionul Municipal in Brăila. Gheorghe dominated much of the event, winning the first two rounds with perfect scores.

In the final round, 21-year-old Erik D. Gheorghe managed to narrow the gap, but Adrian Gheorghe ultimately finished with 23 points in the general classification. Andrei Popa, a former amateur world champion, secured second place with 20 points, while Erik D. Gheorghe took third with 17 points.

The event featured eleven Romanian competitors, including veterans such as Mircea Agrişan and Anton Hack, as well as younger riders like Andre Damian. Despite the high temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius and the aging condition of the Brăila stadium facilities, the competition drew several hundred spectators each day.
