Adrian Mulholland announces candidacy for Duncan city council

Adrian Mulholland has announced his candidacy for the Duncan city council. A resident and homeowner for over 35 years, Mulholland’s campaign focuses on the central principle of maintaining city livability through preventative measures.

Mulholland, a former registered nurse with experience in occupational health and safety and a former municipal councillor in Tofino, aims to address deteriorating public spaces, unsafe crossings, and neglected maintenance before they escalate into crises. His stated priorities include creating cleaner, safer, and more usable public spaces, fostering an age-friendly and walkable environment, and ensuring municipal decisions are financially responsible and results-oriented.

While acknowledging that Duncan cannot solve regional issues such as homelessness, addiction, or housing pressures in isolation, Mulholland emphasizes the council's responsibility to manage how these pressures impact local streets, parks, and businesses. He advocates for unity and cooperation with North Cowichan and the Cowichan Tribes.
