Adrian Piorescu opens ‘One Small Step’ exhibition in Bistrița

Sculptor Adrian Piorescu, recipient of the 2025 Grigore Bradea Annual Award, has inaugurated his first solo exhibition in Bistrița, titled ‘One Small Step’. Held at the Bistrița-Năsăud Museum Complex, the installation explores the consequences of human evolution and the ethics of progress.

The exhibition uses the history of space exploration as a central theme to reflect on authority, pride, and the sacrifices made for scientific advancement. Piorescu’s work highlights the often-overlooked role of animals, such as Laika and Ham, which were sent into space before human missions. Through sculptures and cement plates featuring motifs like the Apollo 11 capsule and Mars rovers, the artist questions whether human pride outweighs the moral cost of progress.
