Adrian Segečić scores for Portsmouth in EFL Cup match against West Ham

Croatian footballer Adrian Segečić opened his new season with a goal for Portsmouth during an EFL Cup match against West Ham. Scoring in the 33rd minute, Segečić struck a long-range shot from approximately 20 meters that deflected off a defender to beat the goalkeeper.

Despite Segečić's early lead, West Ham recovered to win the match 3-1, with goals from Castellanos (two) and Bowen. This performance continues a strong trend for the 22-year-old, who has contributed to a goal in his last seven official matches.

Segečić, who previously played for Australia before choosing to represent Croatia, was included in Zlatko Dalić's extended squad for the 2026 World Cup. He finished last season with 11 goals and five assists for Portsmouth.
