Adriana Bustos presents astrological exhibition at Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes

Artist Adriana Bustos is presenting a new exhibition at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes that utilizes astrology to reorder the institution’s collection of over 14,000 pieces. The project aims to provide an alternative reading of the museum’s long history through a cartographic and research-based approach.

The exhibition features a trilogy of works, centered on a monumental drawing titled ‘Carta natal del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes’. To create this zodiac of national heritage, Bustos collaborated with writer and astrologer Claudia Aboafa to develop a natal chart for the institution. The work organizes the collection around specific astrological axes, such as the Cancer-Taurus axis representing identity and the Pluto-Venus conjunction exploring transformative energies within the building’s history.
