Adriana Vilagoš places fifth in javelin at World Championships

Serbian athletes competed in the Ultimate World Athletics Championships in Budapest, with Adriana Vilagoš securing fifth place in the javelin throw. Her best throw of 61.37 meters was achieved in the first round. Despite the high placement, Vilagoš expressed mixed emotions, noting she had hoped for a stronger finish to her season.

The javelin competition was won by Japan’s Haruka Kitaguči, who set a national record with a throw of 68.92 meters. China’s Ziji Jan took second place before exiting the competition due to injury, and Colombia’s Flor Denis Ruiz Hurtado finished third.

In the men’s long jump final, Serbian athlete Luka Bošković finished in eighth place. After a first-round jump of 7.66 meters, he recorded a foul in his second attempt. Under the tournament's specific format, this resulted in his elimination. The long jump event was won by Greece’s Miltiadis Tentoglou with a jump of 8.35 meters.
