Adriatic container terminals report growth and throughput milestones
Major Adriatic container terminals are reporting significant growth and operational milestones.
Port of Adria, which manages container and general cargo terminals at the Port of Bar, reported a net profit of 202,600 euros for the first half of 2026. This marks a turnaround from a loss of 837,000 euros during the same period in 2025. The company’s sales revenue rose to 7.14 million euros, up from 4.87 million euros the previous year. Despite increased operating expenses and labor costs, the company achieved an operating profit of 1.59 million euros. In June, the terminal handled a record 7,158 TEU.
In Croatia, the Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) announced that it has reached a cumulative throughput of four million TEU since April 2011. Under the control of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), the Brajdica terminal in Rijeka has doubled its total throughput over the last five years. CEO Iñigo Núñez Mendibe stated that this milestone confirms the terminal's increased capacity and competitiveness within the Central and Southeast European markets.
