Milan refuses Napoli's push for midfielder Adrien Rabiot

AC Milan midfielder Adrien Rabiot, under contract until 2028, has been a key figure for the club in the 2025‑26 season (six goals, five assists) and is presently starring for France at the World Cup.

Napoli, now led by Max Allegri, has identified Rabiot as its top transfer target, hoping to reunite with the French midfielder he coached at Juventus. Napoli’s interest depends on freeing up midfield space by off‑loading Frank Anguissa and presenting a sufficiently large offer.

Milan owner Gerry Cardinale has publicly ruled out a sale, stating that Rabiot is central to the project of new coach Rubén Amorim, who plans to use him as a deep‑lying midfielder in a 3‑4‑2‑1 formation. The club’s stance is firm despite external pressure.

Rabiot, accompanied by his mother‑agent Véronique, told reporters he will speak with Amorim after the World Cup, replying “We’ll speak later…”. Véronique hinted that she still envisions his future in the red‑and‑black shirt, calming speculation about a summer exit.
