Adrián Medina Amarillas seeks federal deputy candidacy in Baja California

Adrián Medina Amarillas, the former Secretary of Health for Baja California, has officially registered in the Morena party's internal process to seek a federal deputy candidacy for the 2027 elections.

Medina Amarillas announced via social media his intention to compete for the Federal District Coordination No. 1 in Mexicali. This follows the national call published by Morena on September 30 for candidates for federal district coordinators, which serves as the party's mechanism for defining legislative representatives for the lower house.

The former official stepped down from his position in the cabinet of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda in August to pursue these political aspirations. During his tenure as Secretary of Health, he oversaw the transition of state hospitals and health centers to the federalized IMSS-Bienestar system.
