Aduana FC charged by GFA over alleged attack on Karela United

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has formally charged Aduana FC following an alleged attack on Karela United players, officials, and their team bus. The incident occurred in Dormaa Ahenkro after Aduana’s 2-1 victory in a Matchday Three Ghana Premier League fixture at Nana Agyemang Badu I Park.

Reports indicate that Aduana supporters breached restricted safety areas and pelted the Karela team bus with missiles, resulting in smashed windows. Additionally, some Karela officials and technical staff members were reportedly subjected to physical harassment. Karela United has filed an official complaint with the Ghana Police Service regarding the security breach and assault.

The GFA charges allege violations of the 2019 GFA Disciplinary Code and the 2025 Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols. Specifically, Aduana is accused of failing to ensure the safety of the visiting team and its officials, alongside inappropriate conduct by its supporters. Aduana FC has until Wednesday, September 23, 2026, to respond to the allegations.
