Adult Swim renews “President Curtis” for Season 2 ahead of series debut

During a panel at San Diego Comic‑Con, Adult Swim announced that the upcoming animated spinoff “President Curtis,” set in the Rick and Morty universe, has been renewed for a second season before the first episode airs. The series, starring Emmy‑winner Keith David as President Andre Curtis, is co‑created by Dan Harmon and James Siciliano and features Stephanie Beatriz and Jim Rash among the voice cast. Production on Season 2 has already begun, with the premiere of Season 1 scheduled for July 26 on Adult Swim and streaming the following day on HBO Max. Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen said the early renewal shows confidence in the show’s creative team and the character’s appeal. Renewing a series prior to its premiere is unusual for the network and signals strong backing for the new title.
