Adva Lavie found competent to stand trial in dating-app theft case

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ruled that social media influencer and model Adva Lavie, 29, is mentally competent to stand trial. The decision follows a psychiatric evaluation by Dr. Phani Tumu, which cleared the way for criminal proceedings to resume after they were suspended in August due to competency concerns.

Lavie, who also uses the names Mia Ventura and Shoshana, has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including grand theft and first-degree residential burglary. Prosecutors allege that between 2023 and 2025, Lavie used dating apps to target wealthy individuals in Westlake Village, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and Beverly Hills. She is accused of posing as a girlfriend or travel companion to gain access to homes before stealing cash, jewelry, and designer goods.

Lavie has been in custody since July after being arrested for failing to wear a court-assigned ankle monitor. She also faces a separate case in Riverside County regarding the alleged theft of luxury items from an Airbnb during the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Additionally, investigators have looked into allegations regarding the drugging of her former fiancé, billionaire real estate investor Stephen Cloobeck.
