Advanced Micro Devices shares shift as Cathie Wood sells $8 M and firms add new positions

On July 6, Ark Innovation, the investment arm of Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest, sold more than 15,000 shares of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) worth over $8 million. The sale came as the stock rose about 140 % year‑to‑date, suggesting the move was driven by portfolio rebalancing rather than concerns about the company’s fundamentals. On the same day Ark’s ETFs bought $5.6 million of Kratos Defense shares.

Separately, Kiley Juergens Wealth Management LLC disclosed a new holding of 5,726 AMD shares valued at roughly $1.2 million in its most recent 13F filing. The filing also highlighted that major institutions such as Norges Bank, Jennison Associates, Cardano Risk Management B.V., Wellington Management and Franklin Resources collectively own large stakes in AMD, with institutional investors holding about 71 % of the company’s stock. AMD recently reported first‑quarter earnings that beat expectations, posting revenue of $10.25 billion and a share price near $516.

Both reports illustrate ongoing active trading and strong institutional interest in AMD as the semiconductor maker continues its rapid stock gains.
