Advanced Navigation secures deal for Polish drone defense systems

Australian deep tech company Advanced Navigation has signed a deal worth up to $26 million to supply inertial navigation systems to the Norwegian defense manufacturer Kongsberg. These systems are destined for Poland to bolster its counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (C-UAS) defenses.

The agreement involves the delivery of hundreds of Boreas fiber-optic gyroscope-based inertial navigation systems. These systems allow Kongsberg’s PROTECTOR platforms to maintain precise positioning, orientation, and heading even in environments where GPS signals are jammed, spoofed, or otherwise unavailable due to electronic warfare.

The technology will be integrated into PROTECTOR platforms being manufactured for the Polish Armaments Agency as part of a larger approximately $2.41 billion agreement with the Polish state-owned defense group Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa. This contract is supported by the Australian Department of Defence’s Global Supply Chain Program.
