Advancements in Phishing Awareness Training: G DATA Adds Custom Templates and Researchers Test LLM‑Driven Adaptive Tools

G DATA CyberDefense announced a new template editor for its phishing‑simulation platform, allowing companies to customise training e‑mails to mirror real‑world scenarios. The feature includes 90 ready‑made templates across three difficulty levels, covering situations such as parcel‑service notifications, blocked‑account alerts, password‑reset requests and online‑shop vouchers. Templates are provided in multiple languages and can be translated for additional locales. The rollout follows a study titled “Cybersicherheit in Zahlen” which found that four out of five employees in Germany are unsure whether they can recognise fraudulent messages. Nikolas Schran, Vice President Sales and Marketing at G DATA CyberDefense, warned that phishing remains a top IT‑security risk and that AI‑generated messages are becoming harder to detect.

Separately, researchers presented an adaptive phishing‑awareness training environment that leverages large language models (LLMs) for interactive, user‑adaptive feedback. The prototype, described in a paper presented at the IEEE 9th Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry (RTSI) in New York, demonstrates how LLM‑driven instant feedback and scenario customisation can enhance corporate training effectiveness.
