Advancements in X-ray technology focus on AI integration and radiation reduction
Recent developments in X-ray technology are emphasizing automation through artificial intelligence and the reduction of radiation exposure. Philips has introduced new medical imaging solutions, including the Radiography 7300 C and the Zenition 90 Motorized C-arm. The Radiography 7300 C utilizes AI-based ‘Smart Collimation Thorax’ and 3D cameras to automate the setup of imaging ranges, helping to reduce unnecessary radiation and the need for re-imaging.
Complementing these hardware advancements, the deep-tech company T-in Technology is developing ‘XERO-Ray,’ a high-voltage power module designed to minimize radiation exposure. By utilizing ultra-short pulse-based high-speed switching technology, the module precisely controls the timing of radiation generation. This approach aims to reduce the low-energy radiation that typically occurs during the power-on and power-off cycles of conventional X-ray equipment, providing a safer diagnostic environment for sensitive patients such as children and pregnant women.
