Advent International raises $30 billion for global funds

Advent International has successfully raised $30 billion for its global fund platform, exceeding its initial target. Of this total, $27 billion is allocated to its eleventh flagship fund, GPE XI, which surpassed its $26 billion goal. The remaining $3 billion is dedicated to the newly launched Mid-Market Fund, a strategy focused on growth investments and acquisitions of smaller companies with enterprise values up to $1.25 billion.

The capital was sourced from a diverse group of investors, including public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, institutional managers, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. While the GPE XI fund will invest across various sectors and geographies with a primary focus on North America and Europe, the Mid-Market Fund will target investments between $100 million and $350 million.

Advent reported a highly active period, noting approximately $13 billion in divestments and $10 billion in investments across 38 companies. The firm intends to prioritize complex transactions, such as carve-outs and public-to-private acquisitions.
