Advent-led consortium to acquire Germany's FNZ Bank
An investor group led by private‑equity firm Advent, together with HarbourVest Partners, has agreed to buy FNZ Bank, a leading independent wealth‑management banking and infrastructure provider in Germany. The bank serves more than 2.1 million end‑customers, connects over 50,000 financial advisers and holds about €155 billion in assets under custody. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
FNZ will retain its partnership with the bank, continuing to supply technology platforms to wealth‑management institutions across Europe. Blythe Masters, Group CEO of FNZ, said the bank will thrive under new ownership. Legal advice was provided by Linklaters to the buyer and by Barclays to FNZ, while A&O Shearman acted as FNZ’s legal advisor.
