Adventure motorcycle segment sees global market growth

The adventure (ADV) motorcycle segment is experiencing significant global growth as riders increasingly seek versatile machines capable of both long-distance touring and off-road capability. This trend is driven by features such as elevated riding positions, long-travel suspension, and high cargo capacity.

In the United States, the ADV segment was reported to be approximately 52% above 2019 levels by the end of 2025. Despite fluctuations in the broader motorcycle market, U.S. ADV sales grew by roughly 2.7% in the first half of 2026, reaching approximately 39,276 units. The United Kingdom has also seen a surge, with adventure motorcycle registrations increasing by 41.8% in July 2026 compared to the previous year.

In response to evolving consumer preferences, manufacturers are developing specialized models. KTM has announced the 1390 Super Duke GT for 2027, a high-performance machine featuring a 1,350cc V2 engine producing nearly 190 CV. An EVO version of this model will incorporate an automated manual transmission (AMT), blending sport performance with touring utility.
