Adventure World and Akachan Honpo host inaugural baby crawling race

Akachan Honpo and Adventure World held their first collaborative event, the ‘Adventure World & Akachan Honpo Crawling Race,’ on October 10, 2026, to celebrate ‘Baby Day.’ The event took place at the Center Dome within Adventure World in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture.

Approximately 100 people participated, including 25 infants and their families. The ceremony featured two Cape penguins to mark the opening. The infants, dressed in animal-themed apparel, competed on a three-meter course while parents encouraged them with toys and milk.

The collaboration aimed to celebrate the growth of infants and provide families with a meaningful way to commemorate ‘Baby Day,’ a date designated by the Japan Anniversary Association based on the ten-month period of pregnancy.
