Adventure World to host special panda character event

Adventure World in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture, has announced the temporary return of its special project, “New Species Panda World: Playground Panda.” The event features the appearance of “Sumire (Smile),” a giant panda character described as arriving from 100 years in the future.

The character will appear at the Panda Love outdoor playground for approximately 15 minutes starting at 12:15 PM on five specific dates: October 24, October 25, October 29, October 31, and November 1, 2026. In the event of rain, the activity will move to the indoor playground.

This event commemorates the launch of the “Maneki Panda (Saihin Model),” a collaborative product created with the long-established Seto ware manufacturer Chugai Touen. The Maneki Panda is a figurine depicting a panda with one arm raised.
