Advertising trends for 2026-2030 focus on AI and digital engagement

Media agency Brainlabs has identified seven key trends that are expected to redefine the advertising landscape between 2026 and 2030. Central to this evolution are artificial intelligence, data quality, and conversational commerce. Key shifts include the rise of retail media, where retailers leverage consumer data for advertising, and agentic commerce, where AI agents perform tasks such as product searches and purchases on behalf of consumers.

Other emerging trends include conversational search, the growing importance of streaming services, and the expansion of short-form video. David Posada, Managing Director of Brainlabs Latin America, noted that the challenge for companies is no longer just generating data, but ensuring that the signals sent to marketing platforms are complete and reliable for business decision-making.

In the realm of social engagement, brands are increasingly facing the challenge of ‘memejacking’—the ability to authentically participate in viral digital conversations. In Mexico, where internet penetration reached 83.5% of the population by the end of 2025, the speed of cultural trends on platforms like TikTok and Instagram requires brands to move beyond traditional advertising to achieve genuine relevance within digital communities.
