Adıyaman finishes rebuilding village houses for earthquake victims

Turkey’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change announced the completion of 32 new village houses in Gölbağ, Adıyaman, built after the February earthquake. The houses were delivered to the owners with the backdrop of the Çat Dam, and the minister Murat Kurum shared photos of the finished homes.

The project is part of a wider reconstruction effort that has so far delivered 31,423 residential units, 9,088 village houses and 2,855 workplaces – a total of 43,366 independent units across the province. Residents expressed strong satisfaction, with Hamdi Demirtaş saying the state “went beyond fatherhood”, Bedir Kahveci calling the homes “more beautiful than the world’s possessions”, and Abdullah Akbulut noting the buildings stand “like iron in the quake”.
