AE Larissa football club embroiled in ownership dispute

Greek football club PA E AE Larissa (AE L) is caught in a protracted ownership dispute. Alleged buyer Zisis Delopoulos, who was presented as a potential investor for the club’s share package, has been unable to demonstrate any financial capacity, with meetings between the parties on 9 June 2026 revealing that he cannot provide even €1 for the acquisition.

Delopoulos and his representatives have demanded additional confidential financial documentation from the club, citing a non‑disclosure agreement signed on 4 June. The club has not supplied the requested data, prompting accusations from Delopoulos’ side that the club is stalling negotiations. In turn, the club’s current administration accuses Delopoulos of refusing to disclose critical financial details needed to assess his ability to fulfil obligations worth millions of euros.

Both sides have exchanged public statements, each alleging the other of bad‑faith conduct and seeking to pressure the other into providing the missing information to move the deal forward.
