AEC industry updates: ISG leadership changes and construction milestones

Several developments have occurred within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sectors.

ISG, an employee-owned architecture and engineering firm, has appointed David Doxtad as Chief Executive Officer and Andy Brandel as Chief Operating Officer. The leadership changes aim to accelerate sustainable growth across the firm’s 20 offices.

In Australia, Multiplex won the 2026 Australian Construction Achievement Award for the ECU City Campus in Perth. The 73,000m² project was recognized for its engineering complexity, having been constructed above active rail tunnels and a busport.

In Toronto, design firm Ware Malcomb has completed construction on the WeWork 1 University Avenue office. The project involved interior architecture and MEP services for the 15,000 SF space in the city’s financial district.

Additionally, the inaugural Finnies Financial Leadership Awards were presented at ElevateAEC 2026. Maria Silvana Mori of CSI USA Group received the award in the small firm category for her role in improving operational budget performance.
