Aegean Airlines appoints Michalis Kouveliotis as new CEO

Aegean Airlines has announced a leadership transition, appointing Michalis Kouveliotis as the new Chief Executive Officer. Kouveliotis, who previously served as CFO and most recently as Deputy CEO, takes over the role to lead the company through its next phase of development.

Dimitris Geroyannis, a founding member of the company since 1999 and CEO for the past 20 years, is stepping down from the top position. He will remain with the airline as an Administrative Consultant, overseeing the Technical Base and the Training Center, which are identified as new strategic growth areas for the Group.

Eutychios Basilakis, Chairman of Aegean, praised Geroyannis for his role in shaping the company’s culture of quality and meritocracy. Basilakis expressed confidence in Kouveliotis, noting his proven ability to support the company during both growth periods and critical challenges.
