Aegean Regatta 2026 continues through Agathonisi and Samos

The 2026 Aegean Regatta continued with its second and third legs, featuring intense competition under challenging weather conditions. The second leg, sailing from Fourni to Agathonisi, saw 65 vessels navigate winds of up to 6 Beaufort. In the Performance category, the Turkish vessel Matrak finished first in real time, while the Russian boat Courrier Du Coeur took first place at the Agathonisi finish line.

The third leg saw vessels from the ORC Club and Non Spinnaker categories sail from Agathonisi to Marathokampou, Samos. This stage required significant tactical decision-making due to shifting wind patterns and local currents.

A notable addition to this year's event is the inclusion of a traditional wooden boat category. The arrival of the fleet in Samos was marked by the appearance of traditional vessels, including Megalochari, the largest Latin sail boat in Greece, owned by the Museum of Nautical and Maritime Arts of the Aegean.
