Aegean Regatta 2026 to begin in northeastern Greece
The 25th edition of the Aegean Regatta, a major international offshore sailing event, is scheduled to take place from August 22 to August 28, 2026. The competition will traverse the northeastern Aegean, starting with an opening ceremony in Limnia, Chios, and concluding in Marathokampos, Samos.
The regatta features approximately 70 to 75 crews and over 450 sailors representing seven different countries. The sailing route includes stops at the islands of Fournoi and Agathonisi. A notable addition to this year’s program is a race for traditional vessels, intended to highlight the maritime heritage of the Aegean region.
Officials noted that the event serves to connect Greece’s maritime traditions with modern island energy, supporting local tourism and fostering international exchange through sport.
