Aegean Sea experiences two shallow earthquakes near Turkey's coast

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported a magnitude 4.3 earthquake in the Aegean Sea at 15:03 on 1 July 2026, occurring at a depth of 6.66 km.

Later on 29 June 2026, AFAD announced a second tremor off the coast of Datça district in Muğla province, Turkey. The quake measured magnitude 3.7 and was shallow, with a depth of 3.46 km and a hypocenter located about 158 km offshore.

Both events were minor and no immediate damage or casualties were reported in the available information.
