Aegon reports strong first-half 2026 financial results
Aegon reported robust financial results for the first half of 2026, generating €416 million in capital, which exceeded both the previous year's €327 million and analyst expectations of €377 million. The company's operational result reached €804 million, surpassing the predicted €755 million.
CEO Lard Friese stated that the results demonstrate the strength of the company's strategy and progress regarding its planned move to the US. While the solvency of the American branch saw a slight decrease to 420 percent from 424 percent at the end of 2025, the group's estimated solvency stood at 169 percent by the end of June.
Following the sale of its British insurance operations to Standard Life for £2 billion in April, Aegon aims for annual growth of 5 percent in operational results, free cash flow, and dividends per share. The company indicated it is on track to meet or exceed all its 2026 financial targets.
