Aeham Ahmad to perform in Gründau

Aeham Ahmad, the internationally recognized pianist, composer, and author known as the ‘Pianist from the Rubble,’ will perform in Gründau on September 3, 2026. The concert is part of the 2026 Intercultural Weeks in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis district.

Ahmad gained global fame for playing piano in public squares amidst the ruins of the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus during the Syrian Civil War. His performances became a symbol of hope and the unifying power of music. Following his escape to Germany, he was awarded the International Beethoven Prize in 2015.

The concert, titled ‘Music Between Worlds,’ will feature a blend of classical European music, Arabic melodies, original compositions, and free improvisation. Ahmad will also share stories regarding his life, flight, and arrival in Germany. The event will take place at the Lieblos Community Center starting at 7:00 PM. Admission is free, though donations are welcome, and Syrian specialties will be served during breaks.
