AEK and PAOK secure major new television rights deals
Major Greek football clubs AEK Athens and PAOK FC have reached significant agreements regarding their television broadcasting rights, signaling a shift in the Super League Greece media landscape.
AEK Athens has renewed its partnership with the rights management firm Percapita. This agreement, which covers the period after the summer of 2027, is described as one of the largest television deals in the club's history, with a total value of approximately 50 million euros over four years.
In contrast, PAOK FC will move away from Percapita starting from the 2027-28 season, signing a deal with SportFM TV. This new agreement is expected to generate roughly 14 million euros per season for the club, representing a 60% increase over their current contract.
The competition for broadcasting rights is intensifying, with potential future battles expected to extend to UEFA competitions, including the Champions League, as entities like SportFM TV and Percapita vie for control of European match broadcasts through 2031.
